HITSP C88 Anonymize Immunizations and Response Management Data Component

Scope:Anonymization, according to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), is the process that removes the association between the identifying data set and the data subject. The HITSP Anonymize Immunizations and Response Management Data Component provides specific instructions for anonymizing data that are prepared for repurposing data created as part of routine clinical care delivery. This Component specification provides the ability to anonymize patient identifiable information for Immunizations and Response Management.

Anonymization cannot be guaranteed by the use of this construct, and therefore a comprehensive risk assessment should be conducted in the implementation environment.
